ATCHA has been hiring summer students for over 40 years now.  We create quality employment opportunities for youth to work at the Court House Museum and Archives each summer.  We typically post these positions in April of each year.  Refer to this section for more information.

Volunteer Opportunities

Despite having a small staff, we are able to accomplish so much over the course of a year at both the museum and the archives!  The main reason for this is that we have an amazing team of volunteers who support us and assist us in a variety of ways, many of whom have been doing so for years. 

There are always volunteer opportunities at our site, and we appreciate the wide range of expertise, knowledge and creativity brought to us by our volunteers.  Here are some examples of volunteer tasks that may or may not currently be filled:

• Serving as a board member on the Argyle Municipality Historical Society board of directors.
• Doing research on behalf of patrons.
• Writing articles for our historical publication, The Argus.
• Assisting with the delivery of The Argus by hand delivering issues to members in your community.
• Assisting at various events (serving refreshments; assisting at children’s events; manning our table at the farmers market, etc.)
• Manning the “Cell” Gift Shop or helping us set it up for the season.
• Assisting with various archival projects, such as indexing or scrapbooking.
• Assisting with tours at the Court House during the shoulder season or when extra staff are needed for group tours or school programming.
• Assisting with social media posts.
• Helping us with administrative tasks at the Archives during Fall and Winter.
• Helping us discover new ways we can serve the community and provide interesting programs.
• And the list goes on!
