Census Records

Argyle Municipality, being a rural municipality, has not been home to numerous large business operations. In the past most rural villages did sustain at least one general store. Our archives, wherever possible, has attempted to acquire the records of these businesses. The largest group of such records belong to the Henry T. d’Entremont general store, at Lower East Pubnico, NS. There are fonds and series level descriptions available for this collection.

ATCHA holds a number of records from other general stores and businesses, but formal descriptions of these holdings do not exist at present. The following is a list of some of the business records held by ATCHA.
