Unpublished Genealogies
When using our genealogy file it is important for researchers to also pay attention to the second portion of the call number which will be either Ser. A, Ser. B, Ser. C, Ser. D. or Ser. E. In our archives these designations indicate the following:
(click on highlighted words for a more in-depth description of the series)
- Ser. A - Genealogies maintained in binders on the archives shelves.
- Ser. B - Genealogies found in our genealogical files.
- Ser. C - Genealogies on microfilm.
- Ser. D - Large genealogical fan charts, descendancy charts, etc.
- Ser. E - Genealogies on computer disk or CD-ROM.
It is important when requesting materials that the call number always be cited fully and correctly and that all relevant information from the entry is given. For instance, all Ser. C (genealogies on microfilm) will also have a page number or other number showing where the genealogy is found on the microfilm.
