Series consists of correspondence, plans, architectural agreements and specifications, some petitions, expropriation papers and deeds pertaining to planning, construction, and opening of new schools within the Municipality of Argyle. Also included are the engravings and proofs which were used in the publication of official programs for the opening ceremonies of some schools. Two committee minute books pertaining to the construction of Amirault’s Hill Consolidated and Argyle Consolidated schools are found here as well.
Information on the construction of Amirault’s Hill Consolidated, 1956-1959, Argyle Consolidated, 1956-1961, Centre East Pubnico School, 1959-1963, Lower Argyle School, 1952-1953, Plymouth Consolidated, 1970-1978, Quinan Consolidated, 1959-1962, Ste.-Anne-du-Ruisseau Consolidated (both the high school and elementary school), 1949-1974, Wedgeport Consolidated, 1957-1961, and West Pubnico Consolidated, 1958-1961 is included in this series.
Unless Ste.-Anne-du-Ruisseau Consolidated School (S.A.R.) is not mentioned, when records pertain to the construction of more than one school, they are found under “S.A.R.”. If S.A.R. school is not mentioned, the records can be found under the name of the first school mentioned.
