Series A: Minutes. –1880-1926. — 30 cm of textual records.
Series consists of general & special session minutes of Municipal Council, as well as requests for special sessions. There are two large bound minute books which contain minutes of the Municipal Council for the years 1880-1904, and 1905-1948 respectively. The Municipal Council also published the minutes of their annual and semi-annual meetings from 1881 to 1949 in a broadsheet format. Series also includes some loose documents which are minutes of special sessions/meetings not recorded in the minute books, and some requests by Councilors for special meetings for the years 1880 to 1923.
In the second bound minute book, starting with the annual meeting of 10 January 1933, the Municipal Clerk ceased to record the minutes by hand and instead copies of the published minutes were pasted into the book (with occasional hand-written entries).
