Modern records of the family have been kept by their granddaughter Carol (Daley) Weir of Yarmouth, NS, who is the present owner. 12 p.

True certified copy of the records from the family Bible of Israel Doane & Rachel Killam of Session Hill [Dayton/Chegoggin], Yar. Co., NS, who married 14 Jan. 1841. Bible published by Jesper Harding, Philadelphia, 1854.

Includes typed transcript of Bible record; plus one handwritten page of recent records.

Bible was afterward kept by Ezra & Abbie (Doane) Gray of East Kemptville, NS and then by their son Marsden C. Gray.

Bible was loaned for copying by Eric Whitehouse, Deerfield, Yar. Co., NS who borrowed same from Gary Bullerwell, Brazil Lake, Yar. Co., NS who owned the original in 1989. Another copy of this same record was brought to the archives in 1993 by Gloria Hamilton, Pleasant Valley, Yarmouth County, NS 12p.

MG1 Ser. E Doane, #2

True certified copy of records from the family Bible of Capt. Thomas K.S. Doane & Eleanor Churchill of Lakeside or Dayton, who were married on 11 Sept. 1862. The Bible contains the records for two or three generations of family members. It was passed from Thomas K.S. Doane to his son Willard Doane, and then to Willard Doane’s son, Clarence C. Doane, the owner of the Bible in 1998. This edition of the Bible is the “New Devotional and Practical Pictorial Bible…” published by the National Publishing Co. of Philadelphia, PA and St. Louis, MO in 1879.

J. Gordon Wood of Tusket, N.S. loaned this Bible to the archives for copying. The original Bible was on loan to him, and in 1998 belonged to one of his relatives, Clarence C. Doane, Wellington, Yar. Co., N.S. Clarence C. Doane is the son of Willard Doane and a grandson of Thomas K.S. Doane, the original owner of the Bible. 8p. [Access.#M1998:6]

A photocopy of the record of the family of Thomas H. Doucette and Charlotte LeBlanc of Quinan. This is a record in Charlotte’s handwriting, which she recorded inside of the front cover of her photograph album.This is one of the old Victorian photograph albums, filled with tintypes. This album is owned today by Adeline (Doucette) Doucet of Dayton, Yar. Co., NS., who was given the album by her aunt, Mrs. Regina Doucette of Quinan.

Loaned for copying by Mr. & Mrs. Mike Myers, Halifax, NS who borrowed same from Mildred Joyce (Huskins) Ellis, Alma St., Yarmouth, NS Mrs. Ellis inherited the Bible from her aunt, Edith (Rogers) Wyman. 4p.

True certified copy of the records from the Family Bible of Joseph James & Susan (Hilton) Durkee who were married 28 Dec 1834. Bible published by Daniel D. Smith, New York, 1829.

This Bible was passed by Hilton Durkee to Lois Flint Durkee-Williams of Fort Pierce, FL. In March 1948 she gave this Bible to the Durkee Memorial Library at Carleton, Yar.Co., NS.
