True certified copy of the records from the family Bible of James Forbes & Wealthy Jane Gray of East Kemptville, Yar. Co., NS who were married 5 March 1857. No publisher or place of publication given.

Loaned to archives for copying by Mrs. Lillian Maude LeBlanc, Plymouth, Yar. Co., NS

Her husband the late William LeBlanc, was a son of Alberta (Forbes) LeBlanc, and a grandson of James Forbes. This is not the original family of James Forbes. Several branches of this family obviously copied from the original Bible into newer ones in the 1880′s. 7p. [2 copies]

Records from the family Bible of Charles Hiram Forbes & Laura E. Spinney of Central Argyle, NS who were married on 12 Nov. 1881. Front title page from Bible is gone, but the “Reviser’s Preface” is dated “Jerusalem Chamber, Westminster Abbey, 10 July 1884.” A title/publication page found in front of the New Testament called this portion of the Bible the “Self-Pronouncing Edition of the New Testament … revised version of 1881.”

Original Bible loaned for copying by Mrs. Audrey L. O’Brien, Tusket, NS, a granddaughter of Hiram Forbes. 8p.

Includes birth & death records of their children. Owner- ship of the bible passed to their son William H. Forbes & Susan A. Pitman of Argyle Head and later of Brooklyn, Yar. Co., NS. Includes births, marriages & deaths of their children. Their son, William H. Forbes was the next owner of the bible and it was passed on to his son, William H. Forbes & Eloise Thurston of Brooklyn, Yar. Co., NS who loaned it for copying in 1993. p. 8 [Access # M1993: 411]
